Benjamin I. Schimelman vCard


Benjamin I. Schimelman is an associate with the firm and practices primarily in the areas of complex civil and commercial litigation.  He represents insurers in complex coverage disputes involving allegations of bad faith and unfair claim settlement practices.  Ben also represents financial institutions in commercial and consumer litigation ranging from complex foreclosures and construction disputes to evictions and other real estate matters. 

Ben is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor for the Connecticut Law Review and clerked for the City of Middletown’s Office of the General Counsel.

Before entering the legal profession, Ben spent nine years working at a prominent Hartford insurer in its information technology, claims, and marketing departments.

When he’s not in the office, Ben has many interests including woodworking, skiing, hiking, and spending time with his wife, son, and daughter.
