William L. Hurlock

Partner

Bill Hurlock is a partner with the firm and practices primarily in the area of litigation focusing on general and complex commercial litigation and healthcare. He has a wide range of experience in all aspects of litigation, arbitration, mediation and appeals. Bill has been featured in The American Lawyer Magazine and the Corporate Crime Reporter. Recently, Bill served as one of the lead attorneys in a healthcare case that resulted in a $163 million recovery on behalf of the United States. In addition, he successfully sought and obtained releases of wrongly incarcerated inmates in pro bono matters before the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

Recently, Bill secured the successful dismissal of an action by the United States Government to rescind a client’s purchase of real property from the United States Marshals Service.

Bill has successfully defended a number of corporations in class action lawsuits and several Fortune 500 companies in the diet drug, latex glove and asbestos national mass tort litigations. Before moving to New Jersey, Bill was a federal prosecutor serving as an Associate Independent Counsel for the Office of the United States Independent Counsel David M. Barrett investigating allegations concerning the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Bill served on the staff of two additional Offices of Independent Counsel and has worked for a United States Congressman and a Member of Parliament in the British House of Commons.

Since 2002, Bill has served as an adjunct professor teaching Healthcare Law, Legal Research and Writing and writing related courses at Seton Hall Law School. He also served as an officer and barrister in the Arthur T. Vanderbilt American Inn of Court.

Bill is a member of several local and community boards. When not in court, Bill enjoys playing golf, coaching youth soccer and spending time with his family and their beagle Annabelle.
